Back spasms after epidural steroid injection

Back pain is regularly cited by national governments as having a major impact on productivity , through loss of workers on sick leave . Some national governments, notably Australia and the United Kingdom , have launched campaigns of public health awareness to help combat the problem, for example the Health and Safety Executive 's Better Backs campaign. In the United States lower back pain's economic impact reveals that it is the number one reason for individuals under the age of 45 to limit their activity, second highest complaint seen in physician's offices, fifth most common requirement for hospitalization, and the third leading cause for surgery. Acupuncture.  Acupuncture involves placing very thin stainless steel needles into the skin in certain locations that are thought to correspond to certain organs and anatomic structures deep within the body, including the spine. While the theory behind how acupuncture works has not been validated by modern research, one school of thought is that the needles stimulate pain-suppressing neurotransmitters, reducing inflammation, increasing circulation, reducing muscle tension and ultimately providing pain relief.  Learn more about acupuncture .

I have had back pain off and on for about 2 years now. I had xrays which showed something abnormal. The doctor said that it could be anything from a fracture to just gas showing on the xray. Then I had a bone scan which showed no abnormalities. I then did physical therepy for two months with no change in the pain. So then I went to an osteopath for osteopathic manipulative therepy with little improvement I just stoped going and gave up on that. I had pain after that off and on but now the pain is different than the pain I once experienced. Now if I sleep more than about five hours at a time I get really bad back spasms. I try to sleep in a way that is good for my back- on my side with a pillow between my knees, a pillow under my head and I hold onto a pillow as well. Sometimes the painful lower back spasms go away after being out of bed for a few hours but sometimes they can last a lot longer. The spasms get worse if I bend over or especially when I sit down. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing these spasms and how to prevent/treat them? Thank you so much! :)

I also have triple negative stage 2 breast cancer. I have taken my first AC treatment and the injection. Had very little pain until day 6. The lower back spasms were almost unbearable. I had been cautioned by my oncologist about taking anything that might mask any fever due to infection….but I had to take Tylenol and in 15 mins had relief. I too had taken the Claritin. Have not been bothered again. I asked about it when I was in for labs. I was told by an RN that I was producing white blood cells big time during those spasms.
